Grandad has had a huge turnaround since the Monday before last when we thought he wasn't going to be here for very much longer .. with the pneumonia, thrush in his mouth and throat and gall bladder attended to with the right meds and potassium to get his levels right .. and proper food for the week .. and of course fluids ... he is doing really well ..
I tell you walking in to see him at the hospital on Friday last week .. he was a whole new person to what he was on Monday ..
A bit "selfish" but I was going through photos while I was crook and looking at the ones with Grandad and I have heaps with the kids .. but only one with me .. just after I had the boys and was a bit bigger than now .. so when I went up I asked if he would mind me taking photos .. but he loves photos being take and was fine with it .. S took some of me with him .. and then he pointed to the kids and said "the boys too" .. so I took some with the kids too .. they came out cool ..so I'm happy now I've got some updated ones ..
He has been discharged from hospital and is now in the hospital wing in a new rest-home .. apparently my dad is a bit unhappy about it all .. (as apparently he didn't see many males and many of the residents weren't very agile) .. and when he went to tell the old one that grandad was no longer coming back there they weren't that impressed ..as they thought he would be ..
So .. we will see how it all pans out ..
He is being assessed again next week .. and then things will go from there ..
I'm so thrilled he's doing so much better .. but was a bit apprehensive about him going back to the rest-home he was at .. with all the "stories" I've heard about his care .. so I'm hoping this new one will be a lot better ..
Dad and my uncle are moving his things over this weekend.
So this is grandad's new home (pun intended - new home and resthome) ..
