Here are some photos from the boys first ever cross country ..
A day I've been looking forward to .. but also dreading too ..
I have been a bit worried about it for C5 .. but he did well finishing .. and then was soo tired after he'd got there
.. I had to carry him back to where we were sitting .. his poor little heart was running over time ...
He just lay there on my lap for about 10 mins
.. but he has been soo determined that he wanted to do it ..
M5 running up the hill
C5 walking .. then running up the hill to make a dash for the finish ..
.. and yes I was bawling my eyes out when C5 finally came through the paddock ..
... he walked a lot of the way .. but ran at the start .. and up the hill and towards the end .. along with an older student he had picked to go around with him ..
.. as he came along all the kids from his school that were watching were chanting " Go Cameron ... Go Cameron "
So cool !!!!
He was last .. but he didn't care!
.. they both finished so that was great!
M5 waited for his friends as he said he wanted to make sure they got to the finish line too ..
I'm so very proud of both of them!
C5 was so sad last night as he said "Michael is good at everything .. I can't even run as far as him ... " .. so we had a talk about how some people are good at different things .. and that everyone can't be good at everything ..
He said just a moment ago .. "I was last" .. and I said with a smile .. "yes but you did your best .. and I'm so proud that you tried and finished! " ... He said .. "yeh thats the main thing eh Mum .. and you were proud of me and Michael eh .. and Dad saw us too .." .. with a big smile on his face.
Just one of those days ..when it puts everything in to perspective .. huh?
