OK .. so here's what's going on with Nana and Pop

I visited nana and pop in hospital (after doing the weigh in thing) .. and you could have almost knocked me down with a feather .. Pop was sitting (albeit out of breath .. and depending heavily on the walker) on Nana's bed ..

The OT then came and gave Pop a help to his bed .. and Nana and I nattered (as you do) .. she told me that she was going home that day (WAHOO .. imagine me doing the watosie).. but she was trying to sort out meals on wheels or the like ..

(This is a complete aside .. but holy smoke have you seen how much they cost ..)

She apparently was showing her stubborn side and saying she will just cook the stuff herself .. I suggested trying them for a couple of weeks .. but didn't get very far with that idea..

Then she also said that she'd told the doctors that there was no way she was going home with that thing (that thing being the oxygen machine she has been on 16hours a day .. ) ..  I said surely you'll need it as a back up .. she told me no .. if that thing goes with me I may as well stay here ..Lots of fight in her yet I was thinking to myself !

Anyhoo .. I got a text from Mum to say that she went home after dinner and that my uncle was staying the night at her place .. to settle her in .. I assume without "that thing"

I then visited Pop .. he was a lot brighter and more "with it" today .. and was talking a bit .. although became a bit out of breath the more I talked .. He was very fretful for Nana . and I said to him .. don't worry about her at the moment .. we can sort it all out for her .. and that he needed to worry about himself getting better and out of hospital!

He nodded but I don't think he entirely heard me as his hearing aid was on the table thing beside his bed..

I said to him it was good to see him less sleepy and on the move .. and he said but he still felt very sleepy and b*ggered .. and I said that at least he was giving it his best shot ..

I must add here .. this is a world of difference from Friday when we were told that it seemed as though he had given up as he wasn't eating or drinking .. was put on I V fluids .. and that they were very concerned about his state .. amazing what a weekend and people talking and getting him positive can do!

So hopefully by the end of the week Pop will be on his way to being on the mend .. and they have talked about him going to rehab to get him back to where he was before he came in hospital ..

I think Nana will fret for him when he is home .. as she herself finds it hard doing everything for the both of them .. so hopefully that will get sorted out!
